What is Hijama?

Hijama is a traditional technique that goes back thousands of years, used to maintain health through the application of suction cups, finding writings that demonstrate this in the Chinese and Egyptian civilizations. This therapy is also widespread in Muslim countries as a therapeutic treatment given the recommendation of its use, which regulates it by reserving them to specific days depending on the days of sunnah. Currently its application is widespread throughout the Asian and African continent, being also a therapy widely used by numerous population groups in the rest of the contenders.

Suction cupping or suction cupping involves applying suction cups to the body. These suction cups can be of very different materials, the most commonly used being glass and PVC. These suction cups are extracted from the air, generating a vacuum inside in order to stimulate blood supply of the treated part in order to promote health. These suction cups can be dry (without bleeding) or wet (such as the hijama).

The hijama is a variant of the usual suction cup therapy, creates a negative pressure in the applied area thus relieving pain and pressure, taking some of the excess blood out of the body, in this way promotes blood circulation and stimulates the immune system, allowing the body to use its natural resources to heal itself.

Acupuncture in Mallorca

Acupuncture is an ancient, painless and safe practice that aims to rebalance the energy of the body by manipulating different points of the body. In this healing technique used in traditional Chinese medicine, very thin needles are used to stimulate specific points in the body. Most of these points are placed on lines called "meridians".

In Acupuncture the disease is not defined by symptoms or by the name of a disease, but by energy imbalances, using terms such as Yin insufficiency or excess heat in the lungs.

The Chinese terms YIN and YANG refer to opposite energies that complement each other, and the term QI or CHI refers to vital energy.
